As a writer of poetry myself, I love this explanation. ‘Poetry….the spontaneous overflow of powerful meanings’ Anyone who reads the poems I write will see the ‘yearning and ‘desperate love’ I crave for from my Creator…and I write it knowing full well that there are many ‘believers’ on a similar journey, with the same questions and thoughts’ ..with the heart longing to be in the presence of God”.
Following the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, saying you have quoted ‘In some poetry, there is wisdom’, I would like to think if there is an ounce of ‘wisdom’ in any of my writings, it is a gift bestowed on me, as a reminder to myself first on reflection, and to others who can relate to the deep themes I write about as a means of an ‘outlet’ of the feeling of restlessness we experience when in a state of wanting to belong to and be accepted by our Creator.
JazakAllah Khairan for sharing this lovely piece which I will treasure and hold as a reminder not to be ‘The Moth’ attracted to the wrong source of light which can lead to its own destruction
